It’s that time of the year again guys! 🙂
So we’re just days away from New York Comic Con and this will be my third year attending. As a first time attendee it can be exciting but also overwhelming on your first day and that’s why I’m here to help.
1.) Make a schedule
Nycc has created a great user friendly app that lets you see all the events and make a schedule for your weekend. I would definitely advise everyone to do this before hand. This is especially helpful if you’re interested in panels, that way you can get there in time to get into the panel room. You also don’t need to worry about loosing track of time while you explore around Nycc because the app lets you create reminders before your saved events to let you know when you’re approaching the start time.
2.) Power Banks
There are charging stations available, however we all know how fast they can get filled up. It will be so much more convenient if you walked with your personal power banks for charging your phones and tablets.
3.) Snacks and Drinks.
My first year I hadn’t thought about bringing any food or drinks and that turned out to be a huge mistake. You’re going to be walking around for hours and with all your scheduled events who wants to go wait in a long line for food when that hunger starts to kick in? Another thing to note is that food can be really pricey at Javits Center. I would advise to walk with a big enough bottled water and some snacks or sandwiches to munch on throughout the day. I know the idea of walking around with a big bottle and a bunch of food doesn’t seem appealing, but its 100% worth it when you get there.
4.) Comfortable Attire
As I mentioned above, you’re going to be walking around for most of the day and comfortable shoes are a must! Ladies if your Outfit/Cosplay requires high heels I would definitely walk with a pair of flats just in case.
5.) Tote Bag
A tote bag or big enough backpack is definitely a must. You will need something to carry all your comic con goodies around 🙂
6.) Be Awesome and Have Fun!
Everyone at comic con is there to have a good time so no need for any pushing in lines or getting upset at the workers if you don’t happen to get into a panel, they’re only doing their jobs.Remember to be safe and if you’re going in a group set up a designated meeting point so that if at anytime you get separated you know where to go.
Hope everyone has a great time this weekend at Comic Con, I know I will 🙂 🙂
